Online voting to select nominees took place from July 15 to August 18. More than 21,000 votes were cast by music fans and music industry stakeholders to select nominees in 12 voting categories. Nominees in nine additional categories were selected by jury. Submissions for voting consideration were received from 140 artists representing Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut, NWT, and the US.
SELECTING THE WINNERS at 11:59pm CST. Award winners are chosen by music fans and music industry stakeholders who register online. Registration is free, with an easy sign-up process available on the APCMA website.
MANITOBA LOTTERIES RETURNS AS PRESENTING SPONSOR Lisa Meeches, Chair of the Manito Ahbee Board of Governors , welcomed Presenting Sponsor Manitoba Lotteries at today’s media conference, and accepted a cheque in the amount of $150,000 representing their contribution for 2011.
“The Manito Ahbee Festival and Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards have grown into a high profile event that has been supported by Manitoba Lotteries since year one.
