Pure Ceylon Cinnamon to Entice the World
The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (SLEDB) holds the ownership of the second National Brand namely “Pure Ceylon Cinnamon” which was recently unveiled by Mahinda Rajapaksha the president of the DSR of Sri Lanka.
Mr. Janaka Ratnayake, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board expressed that the EDB has already taken necessary steps to implement activities listed its strategic plan for year 2011 to 2015. The main objective of the strategic plan is to increase the export earnings from products and services to US$ 15 Billion by 2015 to bring Mahinda Chinthanaya a reality.
Mr. Janaka Ratnayake, Chairman & Chief Executive of SLEDB highlights the importance of Branding as promotional tool to promote exports. He further stated that branding of 'Pure Ceylon Cinnamon' is beneficial to enhance our market share in the American market and also to build an image and reputation for the Pure Ceylon Cinnamon.
Sri Lanka is the largest producer of Pure Cinnamon in the world accounting for 70% of the global production. Sri Lanka commands more than 85% of the world market share for real Cinnamon.
Mr.Ratnayake said that the SLEDB has planned for two Cinnamon Brand promotion programmes in the USA and Germany during year 2011. The Brand promotion in USA has already completed during the International Food Technology Fair held in New Orleans, USA last month. The next Brand promotion will be held in Germany in October during ANUGA Trade Fair, one of the biggest Food fairs in the world.
Cinnamon was one of the first traded spices of the ancient world. Cinnamon was a popular spice in the ancient Arab word and Arab traders have paved the way for Cinnamon to travel a long distance through the spice route to the Europen market. Cinnamon has motivated many historical voyages leading to discovery of New World by Christopher Columbus and Vasco De Gamma to Sri Lanka & South India.

Well, this is 100% cinnamon leaf oil and it is dirt cheap.
