Mrs. Thelma Irene Brewer, age 70, of Middleburg, Fla., passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011.  She was born in Orlando, Florida and was the youngest of 7 children.  She started her career working with the Duval County School System and retired with 25 + years working for the Federal Government.  She generously gave 30 years of her time through volunteer work for the Middleburg United Methodist Church.  She considered her greatest blessings and accomplishments to be her family. Her compassion, kindness, patience, love, wisdom, generosity and great faith and trust in God touched many deeply.   She is survived by Barney H. Brewer, her husband of 54 devoted years, her daughter, Kathy Bennett, her  son, Kenny Brewer, daughter-in-law, Wendy Wreden-Brewer; 6 grandchildren, Matt, Melissa (Arthur), Amber, Katie, Amanda and Austin; 1 great-grandchild,  Zachary.  Funeral service was held at Middleburg United Methodist Church, 3925 Main St. Saturday, August 20.  Post tributes at www.hollyhillfunerals.com

Mr. Tony Padgett, a resident of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the age of 60. He was born on the 7th of June 1951 in Toombs, County, Ga. As a child he moved to Jacksonville, Fla., where he grew up. He had worked for Taylor Concrete for several years. He loved the Jacksonville Jaguars football games, watching NASCAR races and fishing. Everyone knew he as a kind and gentle person. He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Padgett and brother, Terry Padgett. He is survived by his mother, Betty Purvis; daughter, Lisa Padgett; son, Christian Padgett; brother, Jerry Purvis; sister, Diane (Richard) Evitt; nephews, Matthew Evitt and Jay Purvis; nieces, Candice and Brandy Purvis, Shelly and Sherry Padgett; great-niece, Brianna; great-nephews, Xavior and Jeremiah, as well as other family and friends. The family would like to thank The McGraw Center of Community Hospice for their loving care and tremendous support during this difficult time.
