10 Best Child Actors
The 10 best child actors cover decades of films. The bad thing about child actors is they grow up. The good thing about film is we can capture the child actor for posterity on celluloid, or safety film, depending on the decade the film was made. While some child actors do their work and grow up to obscurity, others continue to act and expand their fame and fortune in films.
Shirley Temple. Ms. Temple left acting and perused a career in foreign service, but as a tiny tot she danced her way across the silver screen in a series of shorts. Her first feature-length film was "Little Miss Marker" released in 1934. She was an immediate hit and ended up in starring in at least one film a year, including, "Bright Eyes" in 1934 and "The Little Colonel" in 1935. Her teen films included "The Bachelor and the Bobbysoxers" co-starring Myrna Loy and Cary Grant. Jody Foster. Ms. Foster did voice overs for the film "The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan" at ten years of age. She also appeared in her first movie "Napoleon and Samantha," although she had stared in commercials for several years prior to both. Drew Barrymore. The young Ms. Barrymore got her start in "Altered States" in 1980 and was a hit in 1982 as Gertie in "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial." Drew comes from a family of actors, including her distant grandparent Lionel Barrymore. Robert Blake. Before his late-life dust up with the law, Robert Blake was a film star who began his career as a child. The young Blake was in the "Our Gang" series of films, released beginning in 1939 and continuing until nearly the end of World War II. These were shorts with a humorous story line and Blake was one of the tiny stars. Macaulay Culkin.Patty Duke Young - News

She signed to play Helen Lawson in the film version of trashy best-selling novel Valley of the Dolls (1967), with Patty Duke portraying a character modeled on her. Duke says director Mark Robson was cruel to Garland, compounding her insecurities.
Joe Reavey, Dukes and Conn did a lot of work getting the field ready after the late-afternoon rains, with plenty of help from Cawley's Patty Ann Mulvihill and Theresa Dunbar. “They all showed what this tournament is about,” director Joan Novino said.

Emma (Alexandra Chando) and Sutton (also Alexandra Chando) are twin sisters separated at birth, and you do not have to pull the cork on that bottle to detect notes of Princess and Pauper, with an aroma of Zenda and a slight aftertaste of Patty Duke.

Patty Duke is great, BUT, the way she looks now is NOT what most of today's average 64 year old's look like. Back in the 50's a 64 year old woman would probably have looked like Patty does now, but not today. It's obvious that she spent way too much time in the sun without protection and I think she smoked a lot too....that and too much drinking will cause wrinkles big time. Too bad, because she was a very attractive young woman. Still love her though.
NewquestWhat a jerk, neb! I'm sure she didn't spend anymore time out in the sun or smoke more or use protection less than any of the other stars her age. What she didn't op to do is remake her whole face like Most her age! They didn't keep themselves better! They had major plastic surgery! Are you that young or naive? No 60 year old has "good genes" that keep them looking young, lol! They remake their faces into what ever they want using plastic surgery. Fake, you know. Wake up and smell the plastic.....eh, Roses! LOL!
neb1997Sorry you feel that I'm a jerk Newquest. Yes, I am young, a young 62 years and on SS. My skin doesn't look like PD's and I have never had anything done. Couldn't afford it even if i wanted to. I have always used sunscreen, rarely sunbathed in my younger days, didn't smoke or drink either. Kudos to PD for not going the route of facelifts, Botox, etc, but all I'm saying is that in this day and age, the AVERAGE woman in her 60's doesn't look like an old wrinkled up granny. Sometimes the truth isn't what we like to hear/read. IMO, PD looks awful, but I'm sure she's she's still the same great actress and person that she alwys has been. Why don't you wake up yourself. Bet you're the young naive one.
neb1997Hey Newquest, sorry you think I'm a jerk, but thanks for the compliment because, yes I am young, 62 years young and on SS. My skin doesn't look like PD's and I have never done anything like Botox, facelifts, etc, couldn't aford it even if I wanted to. I do say kudos to PD for not doing those things herself. However, YOU need to get real and realize that today's AVERAGE 60 something female doesn't look like PD does, with or without plastic surgery. I'm not taking anything away from her, she's a great actress and I'm sure a very nice person, she just isn't aging well at all. If I hadn't been around when her show was on and didn't know who she was, I would guess she's well into her 70's. Just sayin'.
