Consumers turn back restaurant plans to raise bucks for abortions
The woman who organized the opposition says she hopes others learn how to derail similar events when they appear in their towns and cities.
Wynette Sills told WND that she found notice on the Internet of a fundraiser at a Chili's in Sacramento that was scheduled to be held less than 24 hours later. She jumped online, got on the phone and started letting her friends and neighbors know.
"The Chili's fundraiser for Planned Parenthood was brought to my attention on Wednesday, July 27, the night before the event. By the next morning, Chili's decided to cancel the Planned Parenthood fundraiser due to guest complaints," Sills confirmed.
The store referred a WND question to the company's corporate headquarters, where a statement already had been prepared.
"The event was canceled after hearing growing concerns from our guests," the company said. "The manager at this location had the best of intentions when organizing this event, and deeply regrets upsetting our valued guests. While we strive to support all our community organizations, moving forward we will look for less polarizing organizations to partner with while growing our involvement in the Sacramento community."
The headquarters statement said local managers are encouraged to "select local organizations their restaurant can give back to throughout the year" but that the Planned Parenthood night "was not intended to be understood as a political statement."

That statement alone, Sills said, indicates success, because the evidence shows the chain now is highly sensitive to holding events that are appearing on schedules more and more often on behalf of the abortion industry leader.
She explained that a Sacramento Applebee's as well as a Big Spoon Yogurt store set up almost identical fundraisers.
Sills said the goals of Planned Parenthood speak for themselves.
"Planned Parenthood performs abortions on 97 percent of the pregnant women who come into their business," she explained in a report on her work. "Nationwide, Planned Parenthood clinics have failed to report alleged child sexual abuse and human trafficking. … While Planned Parenthood Mar Monte had annual revenue in excess of $84 million … Planned Parenthood affiliates are currently under investigation for massive fraud, allegedly overcharging the taxpayers of California by at least $180 million.
